DR. RACHAEL GOSSETT, PT, DPT, SEP, PCES

Rachael Gossett, PT, DPT, SEP, PCES is a somatic-focused physical therapist who is passionate about helping people feel safe, connected, and empowered throughout their healing journey. Since earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018, Rachael has specialized in pelvic health with a strong orthopedic foundation and a deep interest in the mind-body-gut connection and its influence on physical symptoms.

She holds a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® (SEP) certificate, having completed a three-year training in how trauma impacts the autonomic nervous system. She will soon complete her Co-Regulating Touch training with Kathy Kain, allowing for further trauma-informed use of hands-on modalities. This body of work deeply informs her approach—supporting clients whose pain or impairments may be rooted in traumatic injuries, events, or periods of stress. Rachael consistently approaches care with sensitivity, safety, and attunement.

Her primary focus is postpartum healing, and she is a certified Pregnant and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES). With a whole-body lens, Rachael integrates orthopedic knowledge with tools like exercise prescription, motor control training, manual therapy, functional dry needling (FDN), and education on pain neuroscience and nervous system regulation. Each treatment plan is collaborative and tailored to the individual.

Rachael is also fascinated by how the vestibular and visual systems shape our perception of the body and contribute to movement and stability. She has pursued additional training to support clients healing from car accidents, falls, and other high-impact or high-velocity events that can disrupt body awareness, equilibrium and balance.

Her hope for every client at Root & Ember Physical Therapy is to foster confidence, embodiment, and a sense of safety within the body—empowering them to move through life with greater freedom, connection, purpose, and joy.
